James Lightwater is an ordinary 12 year old boy - and being an amateur scientist causes all the trouble. One day, doing an experiment, somehow he meets a computer from the future. In one week's time, super humans are going to start living their dream to take over the world.
To take over the world the aliens have to collect twelve zodiac crystals of Atlantis in the right order. To do this the aliens must reach a coin with the destinations of the twelve crystals. All this information comes from Maximus Prime - a computer from the future. James must collect the coin and the crystals and to do that it's going on a quest to save the world.
When James is retrieving the coin, the coin cracks in half and James has to go back and get the other half of the coin. James would never have been able to get the other half of the coin without Topaz - a volunteer helper from the future. But Topaz is really the Scorpio woman - an arch enemy - in disguise. With the help of TALON, James is able to use time travel. TALON stands for Tracking And Locating Organic Navigator. TALON is a sarcastic tracking device which James must put the coin into to find all the locations, one by one.
Some of James' arch enemies are the lion woman, the scorpion woman which was disguised as Topaz and the head of the robot group - the Golden Robot. There are other robots who at the same time are trying to prevent James from getting the twelve crystals.
I think this is a really good book. It is thrilling from start to end and I could read it again and again. I would recommend this book to anyone - but especially people who like science fiction books. In part one James goes after the Aquarius crystal in Stonehenge and an ice age and even sees the Battle of Waterloo with his own eyes...
