The only way to save the Earth is for a hero from today to travel through time on a perilous quest to stop the aliens taking over in the first place! Just who is that hero destined to save the world? Twelve-year-old James Lightwater - oddball school boy and would-be cutting-edge scientist! The problem is that they are hidden all over the world in different time periods! Can James outwit the aliens and super-villains determined to stop him? The race becomes a deadly chase…

Book 1 - Time Trap

"It's going to explode!" exclaimed James just as the plastic jar shattered, splattering green and yellow goo all over the room. He ducked, just in time to avoid the yellow flash. But not in time to avoid the large sticky blob of the slime, which struck him, full in the face. His experiment to create "living" chewing gum still needed a lot more work, he concluded. He stood back up and scooped the excess muck from his face with both hands. In one of his "mad scientist moments" he had thought that there would be great demand for chewing gum, which never lost its flavour or chew-ability. He had hoped that by making a fortune with the gum, he would be able to fund his other experiment. Little realising it's an experiment that will lead to him being reluctantly hurled on a deadly quest through time and space!

Book 2 - The Fires of Fury

The molecue-flexible metal protected him from the stinging pain of the sand and the helmet allowed him to breathe properly, but nothing could protect him from the sheer force of the wind. Deciding to continue trudging forward, he moved off into the storm as it enfolded him like a living thing.

The trek passed slowly as struggling through the shifting sand was like walking through deep snow. James staggered and fell over time after time, as he was battered from all sides. How had someone his age found themselves in this dire situation? Even worse, the storm was so thick that he could not even see his hands in front of him!

Desperately, James staggered on without knowing where he was going. For all he knew, the storm might last for days and he could be going round in circles.
